I am a mother, a daughter, and a lead CNA at an assisted living facility. I am also a graduate of the Adult Education program and am proud to have earned my high school equivalency certificate. During high school, I found out I would be having a baby. The pregnancy was difficult, and after she arrived, no one was there to help me take care of her. I made the decision to leave school. With hard work, I found my niche as a CNA. I was soon promoted to lead, but still regretted that I had no diploma. It has always been important to me, and I needed it to provide a better future for my daughter and myself. I made the decision that has brought me here today. I enrolled in classes at NPC. I could only attend in the evenings after work, and sometimes wondered if the struggle was worth it. It was! I am a graduate with bigger plans. I am still working full time at the assisted living facility, but plan to add college to my resume very soon. I want to thank my friends, my family, and Adult Education. Thanks Ms. Beth for not giving up on me and encouraging me to better myself with education. With my strength and faith, I can truly do anything.
