Reporting Symptoms and Exposure

COVID-19 exposures, symptoms, or positive/pending test results should be reported immediately to the Health and Safety Office at Health.Office@np.edu or (501) 760-4266.

For information about COVID-19 testing sites and other local information, visit the City of Hot Springs' website.

Contact Tracing

When positive cases are reported to the NPC Health and Safety Office, the contact tracing protocol will be initiated. Please be responsive if contact by the Health and Safety Office.

Quarantine vs. Isolation

Quarantine is used when there has been exposure to COVID-19 positive person through direct contact.  Quarantine helps prevent the spread of disease that can occur before a person knows they are sick or if they are infected with the virus without feeling symptoms. During quarantine you should watch for symptoms of COVID-19 while you stay away others, especially people who are at higher risk for getting very sick from COVID-19.

Isolation is used to separate people who have tested positive for COVID-19 from people who are not infected. If you test positive for COVID-19, first notify the Health and Safety Office and stay home away from others in household and monitor your health. Be prepared to identify campus locations and individuals with which you have had contact. This process is critical in identifying campus exposures.

Anyone presenting symptoms consistent with those listed by the CDC should expect to quarantine according to CDC recommendations and immediately call the Health and Safety Office.
