General Campus Guidelines and Information
Facial Coverings
Facial coverings are required indoors and when social distancing is not feasible. Review the CDC guidelines for facial coverings here: Considerations for Wearing Cloth Face Coverings.
Classroom Seating and Precautions
Faculty, staff and students should wear facial coverings indoors at all times on campus. Faculty are encouraged to exchange documents with students in an electronic manner as much as possible. Faculty members can establish additional physical barriers in instructional spaces where needed. Faculty should coordinate these efforts with the maintenance staff. Faculty may require additional personal hygiene and sanitization measures on common contact points for the more interactive teaching environments, such as shops, simulation spaces, and science labs. Students should adhere to the directions of their faculty member regarding these additional safety precautions. Precautions may include limiting the number of students in an area at one time; expanded physical distancing; and requiring gloves, facial coverings, and eye protection in specialized lab and clinical settings. These stipulations will be communicated to students by instructors.
Programs with clinical requirements will collaborate with area hospitals and health providers to create a safe clinical experience. Please be aware that programs requiring hospital clinical attendance may have extra guidelines, including requirements for vaccination. These requirements are dictated by the clinical partners, and progression through the curriculum may be impossible if students do not comply with clinical partners’ requirements.
Personal Hygiene
Routine hand washing is strongly encouraged. Visit the CDC guidelines for When and How to Wash Your Hands.
Meetings
In-person meetings should observe social distancing when possible. Virtual meetings are encouraged when social distancing is not possible.
