NPC HOSTS VIRTUAL NURSING AND HEALTH SCIENCES HONORS DAY

April 16, 2021

National Park College (NPC) hosted a Nursing and Health Sciences Honors Day Thursday. More than $76,000 in scholarships were awarded to nursing and health sciences students. A total of 97 scholarships and awards were presented to students from community organizations and private donors, many of whom are alumni of NPC programs.

NPC Opens New Marine Technology Building

National Park College (NPC) opens the new Marine Technology building. The 7,500 square foot metal structure is 60 feet deep and 125 feet in length with four 25 x 60 foot bays. The interior space includes a large shop area, a classroom, office and storage space with room to expand.

NPC Hosts Elected Officials For Community College Work$ Month

Hot Springs, Arkansas – National Park College (NPC) will host a breakfast for elected officials Thursday, October 20 at 7:30 a.m. in the boardroom for Community College Work$ month. The Board of Trustees and the College cabinet will discuss the upcoming legislative session and College’s legislative agenda. Elected officials will be asked to share their thoughts about priorities for the upcoming legislative session. Governor Asa Hutchinson has proclaimed October 2016 as "Community College Work$ Month" in Arkansas. Community College Work$ Month promotes community colleges in the state by increasing public awareness of each college's mission and vital role in meeting local economic development and workforce needs. Arkansas Community Colleges (ACC) and its member institutions are holding public events during the month that highlight economic development initiatives and technical training programs.

Over 600 Local Students Participate in Manufacturing Day at NPC

October 7, 2016

Hot Springs, Arkansas – National Park College (NPC) hosted over 600 students from area school districts today as part of a nationwide initiative for Manufacturing Day. Participating schools included Lakeside, Lake Hamilton, Fountain Lake, Mountain Pine, Jessieville and Hot Springs. NPC organized on campus tours, visits to local industries, and hosted a trade show for students to connect with manufacturing through hands-on experiences. Post-Secondary program tours included welding, aerospace and industrial technology. Students who visited the welding department received hands-on practice with a virtual welding machine. The Aerospace tour included demonstrations of how airplane parts are made from fiberglass, graphite, honeycomb cores, and structural rivets. The industrial technology lab provided students hands-on experiences with hydraulics, motor controls, and gear trains.

NPC Dedicates Legacy Hall to Commemorate Campus History

Hot Springs, Arkansas – National Park College (NPC) will host a building dedication for the newly named Legacy Hall Thursday, October 13 at 4 p.m. A special invitation was sent to past presidents of National Park College, directors of Quapaw Technical Institute, and Board of Trustee members to recognize the legacy of their leadership. All faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of NPC are invited to attend. A reception will follow. The College will unveil new signage on the front of the building, formerly the Math and Sciences Building. A tribute wall will showcase past Board members and presidents commemorating their service to the campus and the community. A similar display will be installed to honor faculty and staff at a later date.
