Advisors Serve At HOBY Conference
June 24, 2016Hot Springs, Arkansas – National Park College (NPC) advisors attended the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership conference last weekend at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas. Advisors Chelsea Lairamore, Nathan Looper, Josh Ramirez, and Stephanie Rizzo helped facilitate the event as part of the south Arkansas region. The HOBY curriculum emphasizes personal, group, and societal leadership. Dean of Enrollment, Jason Hudnell presented a session on group leadership at the conference. Students participated in discussion and activities related to leadership, service, and making a difference intended to introduce them to the idea of leadership for social change. The event included personality assessments, hands-on group projects, a global community perspectives exercise, and ended with Leadership in Action projects. HOBY participants dedicated over 150 hours of service to local libraries and the Boys and Girls Club in Magnolia, Arkansas.
