Keynote Speaker Dr. Tywanna Smith

Dr. Tywanna Smith is an international sports advisor, higher education professor, and award-winning leadership strategist with more than 18 years of executive experience at the intersection of global sports, business, and education. A former professional basketball player, she brings a powerful combination of lived experience, research, and practical leadership insight to her work developing confident leaders. Dr. Smith serves as President of The Athlete’s Nexus and is the founder of the Athletes Abroad Summit, an international platform focused on executive education and empowerment.

As an adjunct professor at the University of Memphis, Dr. Smith designs and delivers evidence-based curricula centered on leadership development, communication, identity, and career readiness - with particular emphasis on supporting athletes, women, and student learners. She is the author of two books and is an award-winning researcher, entrepreneur, and philanthropist.

Dr. Smith’s leadership and impact have been recognized internationally. Her honors include the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, Arkansas State University Woman to Watch Award, Ole Miss Top 40 Under 40, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Graduate, and induction into the West Memphis Sports Hall of Fame. Known for her dynamic storytelling and actionable frameworks, Dr. Smith equips women to lead with confidence and purpose.
