About Child Development
• The Child Development Associate® (CDA) national credentialing program is a professional development opportunity for early educators working in a variety of settings with children ages birth to 5 years old and their families to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and abilities in the early childhood education field. The program is designed to assess and credential early childhood education professionals using multiple sources of evidence, including an exam, observation, and a professional portfolio.
Program Summary
o An apprenticeship program combines paid on-the-job training with related classroom instruction that increases an apprentice’s skill level and wages. This will aid in addressing the shortages of early childhood educators while also providing a pathway for completers looking to further their education towards an academic degree. Lastly, the program is competency based which includes 2,000 of on-the-job training with a completion expectation of 1 year.
About Electrical Apprenticeship
An electrical apprentice is someone who works directly under the supervision of a licensed electrician (Journeyman or Master) in order to learn the trade through first-hand experience. The apprentice will be employed in residential, commercial, or industrial electrical work, and be required to apply for an Apprentice License, in accordance with the Department of Labor standards.

o The Electrical Apprenticeship program is a four-year program that provides training for participating companies that need qualified journey workers in the electrical industry. Apprentices must complete 144 classroom hours and 2000 on the job training hours each year of program participation. At the end of the four years of training, apprentices can choose to earn the journeyman designation. After several more years of competent work, they can become a master electrician.
About HVAC
HVAC is composed of heating, ventilation and air conditioning. HVAC functions control the overall temperature and climate inside of homes, corporate offices, hospitals and other types of buildings. An HVAC technician is a person that specializes in the installation, repair and maintenance of HVAC systems.

About Plumbing
A plumbing apprentice is someone who works directly under the supervision of a licensed plumber (Journeyman or Master) in order to learn the trade through first-hand experience. The apprentice will be employed in residential and/or commercial and be required to apply for an Apprentice License, in accordance with the Department of Health standards

Apprentices must complete 160 classroom hours and 2000 on the job training hours each year of program participation. At the end of the four years or when the hour requirement has been met, apprentices can choose to earn the journeyman designation. After several more years of competent work, they can become a master plumber.
