National Park College (NPC) announced Michael Solloway (Fayetteville, AR) as the Arkansas
Community Colleges (ACC) Academic All-Star Scholarship recipient.
A graduate of Fayetteville High School, class of '96, Solloway is currently enrolled
in NPC’s Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology program, with an expected
completion date in the spring of 2025. His academic journey will not end there, as
he has his sights set on the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Fayetteville
to earn a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences.
Solloway’s commitment to his studies is matched by his passion for life outside the
classroom. An avid guitarist, poker enthusiast, and nature lover, he enjoys hiking,
camping, and grilling out with friends.
Solloway’s decision to attend NPC was influenced by its proximity to his home and
the positive feedback he heard about the Radiologic Technology program. “The teachers
and community at NPC have been great,” Solloway shared. “The professors have exceeded
my expectations with their depth of knowledge and instruction.”
Reflecting on the impact of his education at NPC, Solloway said, “The instructors
in the Rad Tech Program are phenomenal. I have grown so much in my first year in
the program, which has led me to receive a student rad tech position at National Park
Medical Center. Our class of 16 students in the Rad Tech program is unified and supportive,
and it is fun watching everyone learn and grow. This is a testament to our instructors
and NPC.”
Radiologic Technology Clinical Coordinator, Kelly Stringer said, “Michael actively
participates in each class and is determined to fully understand each concept. He
keeps a positive outlook and continually strives to become a better student.”
Upon receiving the scholarship, Solloway expressed his gratitude and honor. “I am
very appreciative and honored to receive this scholarship. Thank you. I will continue
to work hard to achieve my goals while being a positive influence on others. I will
stress the importance of higher education, and hard work to my fellow students and
peers. Thank you again for this scholarship. I will use this Scholarship to continue
to pursue my goals and represent NPC as a hardworking, kind, and humble student.”
