The Nursing and Health Sciences Division hosts an honors day each spring. Students,
faculty and staff gather along with community partners to honor scholarship recipients.
This legacy of giving originated early in the program's history through the efforts
of division chair and program director Charlotte Phelps. Some of the earliest scholarships
included the Women's Welcome Club, the PEO, and the Women of the First Presbyterian
Church. This program has increased over the years with many former students returning
to pay it forward and offer scholarships for new graduates.
