Program Overview
The EMT & Paramedic program prepares you for work in the field of emergency medical services. Upon completion of the required coursework, you will be qualified to sit for the National Registry EMT or Paramedic Exams. Employment opportunities include ambulance services, clinics, hospital emergency departments, as well as in industrial settings.
Job Opportunities
After completing the semester long EMT course you will be prepared to take the national certificate examination for an EMT license and apply for an Arkansas state EMT license and go to work or continue advancing your education in the Emergency Medical Services field.
After completing the Paramedic program, you will be prepared to take the national certification examination and apply for an Arkansas state license.
Program Goals
- Students with a background in the Emergency Medical Field seek a service-oriented healthcare profession.
- An up-to-date curriculum will be offered that prepares students to enter the field of emergency health care.
- Community of interest (field/clinical facilities and practitioners) will provide input, clinical/field resources and placement for graduates who demonstrate appropriate knowledge as well as skills.
Approved and Accredited
The National Park College EMS Education Program is approved by the Arkansas Department of Health to provide EMS education. National Park College's Paramedic program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Education Programs for the EMS Professions (CoAEMSP).
