Photo I.D.

NPC photo ID is required for all tests.  Non NPC students may use a driver's license or other photo I.D.

Appointments

All tests, except Accuplacer, require an appointment which should be made by the day prior to testing.  Unscheduled walk-ins are space available.

Electronic and Entertainment Devices

Electronic and entertainment devices are prohibited in the Testing Center lab. No electronic books/tablets allowed during open book exams.  It is the student's responsibility to obtain a hard copy of the book from a friend/instructor for use in the Testing Center. Cell phones are to be turned off and stored in a locker. Testing will be terminated if a violation occurs.

Food and Drinks

Food and drinks are not allowed in the Testing Center.

Concealed Weapons

Handguns, knives, or any concealed weapons are not allowed in the Testing Center.

Waiting

Waiting is not allowed in the Testing Center (including a child, spouse, parent, or friend). A lobby is located nearby with comfortable seating for waiting. Test scores, placements, and questions are often discussed with examinees: these deserve privacy.

Testing Fees

A proctor fee of $25 will be charged for anyone who is not a NPC student or faculty member, unless the fee is paid by another agency. Many tests, such as CLEP and and NOCTI, require a testing fee in addition to the proctor fee.  Proctor fees are paid in the NPC Business Office; other testing fees are payable either in the Business Office or online. The examinee should check in at the Testing Center prior to paying fees. Testing fees are paid by credit/debit card or personal check; credit/debit card is sometimes required and credit/debit card use results in much faster processing of the official transcript for some tests.

Secretarial and clerical duties should not be expected in the Testing Center. Completion of a Request to Proctor form, copying, printing, and written instructions are duties which should be completed in advance by the instructor.
