Saline Memorial Hospital Donates Equipment to NPC Health Sciences

Hot Springs, Arkansas – The National Park College (NPC) Health Sciences Division received a GE MAC-5000 from Saline Memorial Hospital last month. If purchased new, the GE MAC-5000 echocardiogram (ECG or EKG) equipment costs approximately $15,000. ECG equipment is used to measure electrical activity in the heart. The Health Sciences Division plans to use the equipment for teaching proper technique in obtaining ECGs as well as identifying ECG patterns that require medical interventions.

National Park College Partners with HSSD to Offer Adult Education Services in the Jones Administration Building

January 21, 2016

Hot Springs, Arkansas – National Park College (NPC) Adult Education Department has partnered with the Hot Springs School District (HSSD) to offer Adult Education programs at the Jones Administration Building in Hot Springs. The HSSD Board of Directors approved the agreement at their regular monthly meeting on January 19. Beginning Monday, January 25 programs including GED preparation, English as a second language (ESL) classes and workplace skills training through the W.A.G.E. program will be open to the community.

NPC Announces Van Davis Memorial Scholarship Awards

Hot Springs, Arkansas – The National Park College (NPC) Foundation announced the recipients of the 2016 Van Davis Memorial Scholarship today. Amanda Poole and Kelley Ryals were each awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Amanda graduated from Lake Hamilton High School in 2013 where she participated in concurrent credit classes through NPC. She credited Scholarship Coordinator, Matthias Elder with helping guide her through the scholarship process. Amanda hopes to complete a teaching degree so she can help students to “excel in life and prepare them for a better future.”
