National Park College (NPC) Athletic Trainer Heidi Balliette received the inaugural Excellence in Patient-Centered Care Award at the 72nd Annual Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association (SWATA) Symposium, held July 23-25 at the Waco Convention Center in Waco, Texas.
The award recognizes athletic trainers who demonstrate outstanding commitment to prioritizing patient needs, values and individualized care in their clinical practice. Balliette, who joined NPC this summer from Lake Hamilton High School, was selected for exemplifying excellence in promoting and delivering compassionate, patient-focused health care.
“This award embodies one of the highlights of my career,” Balliette said. “While my time at Lake Hamilton aided in this award, I am proud to say that I am excited to bring the same level of care to National Park College.”
A subdivision of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, SWATA’s mission is to
enhance the quality of health care for the physically active while providing networking
opportunities, tools and resources specific to athletic trainers in Texas and Arkansas.
