Four members of the National Park College (NPC) Nighthawk men’s and women’s soccer teams were named to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II All-Region 2 Team this week for their outstanding efforts on the pitch this season.
Freshman midfielder Brittney Maldonado (Rogers) led the Nighthawk women in scoring
with five goals this season and currently ranks second all-time in goals scored in
program history. Freshman defender Mia Williams (Hot Springs) consistently anchored
NPC’s defense with leadership and high soccer IQ.
“These two young ladies were not only two of our outstanding performers, but they also turned up every day willing to listen and get better,” NPC head coach Corey Irvine said. “Both Brittney and Mia are very deserving of this recognition.”
Sophomore midfielder and team captain Osagie Omoregie (London, England) took home
All-
Region honors for the second-consecutive season for Nighthawk men’s soccer. Omoregie
scored four goals for the Nighthawks this fall and ranks ninth all-time in program
history in scoring. Freshman back Anton Klickermann (Leipzig, Germany) sparked NPC’s
defense with strength and energy.
“These two players represent everything we want our men’s soccer program to stand for—hard work, commitment and talent,” Irvine said. “Anton and Osagie played a big role in our team’s success and are highly deserving of this accolade.”
NPC men’s soccer recently concluded its season in the semifinals of the Central District Tournament. Highlights from the season include an undefeated home record, a win over top-ranked Northeast Community College and the team’s fourth-consecutive NJCAA Region 2 Championship.
