NPC To Host NJCAA Region 2 Baseball Tournament For First Time In Arkansas

The NPC 2025 baseball team on field celebrating their win and advancement into the postseason tournament.

National Park College (NPC) has been selected to host the upcoming National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 2 Baseball Tournament, scheduled for May 7–11 at Majestic Park in Hot Springs—the first time the tournament will be played in Arkansas.

The Nighthawks will compete alongside seven other colleges from Arkansas and Oklahoma for a shot at the NJCAA Region 2 title. Representing Arkansas are South Arkansas College (El Dorado), Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (Mountain Home) and Southeast Arkansas College (Pine Bluff). Oklahoma teams include Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa, Northern Oklahoma College-Enid, Murray State College (Tishomingo) and Carl Albert State College (Poteau).

“We’re proud to bring the Region 2 Tournament to Arkansas for the first time,” said Coach Rich Thompson, athletic director at NPC. “It’s not only a win for our team and fans, but a great opportunity to showcase Hot Springs as a host for college athletics.”

The winner of the tournament will advance to the NJCAA South Central District Championship, where they will face the Region 1 champion from Arizona. The district winner will qualify for the NJCAA Division II World Series in Enid, Oklahoma, later in May.

NPC will open the double-elimination tournament against Northern Oklahoma College-Enid Wednesday, May 7 at 10 a.m. Each game of the tournament will be streamed live on the Nighthawk Network.
