National Park College (NPC) will host Educational Journeys: A Storytelling Event, Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Commons at NPC. Sponsored by NPC’s Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) honor society chapter, the program will celebrate education, culture, and community through personal stories from leaders across Arkansas and Oklahoma. The event is free and open to the public.
The afternoon will feature a panel of changemakers who will share their unique educational journeys:
- Joyce Craft, retired superintendent, Hot Springs School District
- Mike Hernandez, current superintendent, Hot Springs School District
- Steven Morales, artist, U.S. Army veteran, and member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma
- Kathy Webb, vice mayor of Ward 3 in Little Rock and interim executive director of Get Loud Arkansas
In addition to the panel discussion, guests can explore an interactive gallery designed to encourage dialogue and civic engagement. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet panelists, connect with NPC student organizations and participate in voter registration activities.
The program will conclude with a Powwow dance demonstration led by Steven Morales, featuring traditional friendship and bear dances.
