National Park College (NPC) accounting students joined professionals from the DeGray Chapter of the Arkansas Society of CPAs last month for an annual networking event in Hot Springs.
The event brought together accounting majors from across the chapter for an hour of conversation and career insight. Each student attendee received a $100 cash scholarship and learned about opportunities to join the Arkansas Society of CPAs as a student member at no cost.
Students submitted questions on topics such as overcoming career hurdles, work-life flexibility, and strategies for passing the CPA exam. NPC Dean of Instruction Jennifer Lyons served on the panel, representing the education sector and answering questions about academic preparation.
Lisa Hopper, NPC accounting instructor, said, “This event is sponsored by the DeGray Chapter of the Arkansas Society of CPAs each year and is a great way to connect accounting students who are considering their future career options and to hear from practicing CPAs.”
The annual event underscores the chapter’s commitment to supporting future CPAs and fostering connections between students and professionals in the field.
