National Park College (NPC) Nighthawk sophomore guard Patrick Punch (Houston, Texas)
was named NJCAA Region 2 Player of the Week for his outstanding performance on the
court this week.
In the seventh week of reporting this season, Punch dominated for the top-ranked Nighthawks,
achieving an impressive 36-point performance in a 111-86 win over South Arkansas College
and adding 17 points in NPC’s 80-64 victory over Arkansas State University Mid-South.
Punch averages 15.1 points per game this season for the 15-0 Nighthawks, serving as
the team’s leading three-point shooter (29). On November 14, 2023, Punch set NPC’s
single-game three-point record with eight treys in a 114-83 win over Central Baptist
College and has begun receiving offers to continue his basketball career at the next
level.
“Patrick has been on a tear for the past five games,” NPC head men’s basketball coach
Dillon Hargrove said. “He has stepped up during big moments and played with relentless
heart. We are really happy that Patrick was recognized as Region 2 Player of the Week.
His hard work is being shown!”
