Pacheco Breaks NPC Record In NJCAA Region 2 Championship

The National Park College (NPC) Nighthawk men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the NJCAA Region 2 Championship meet Saturday at Northwest Arkansas Community College, with multiple student-athletes recording personal record times.

Freshman Bethany Breshears (Hot Springs) was the Nighthawks’ top finisher in the Women’s 5K, finishing 29th with a personal record time of 25:40.55. Freshman Ava Ellison (Hot Springs) finished 30th in the event, clocking in with a personal record time of 26:06.75.

In men’s action, freshman Alex Pacheco (Hot Springs) broke NPC’s all-time men’s 8K race record for the third time this season, achieving a personal record time of 28:30.57 for an 11th place overall finish. Freshman Wyatt Peters (Hot Springs) added a new personal record, clocking in at 43:25.82 for 33rd place, while freshman Conner Robertson (Hot Springs) finished 57th with a time of 51:06.20.
