NPC Nursing Reports High Pass Rates For 2023-24

National Park College (NPC) Nursing programs announced exceptional pass rates for the 2023-24 academic year. For the period from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, Practical Nursing (PN) students at NPC achieved a 100% perfect pass rate on the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX). During the same period, Registered Nursing (RN) students also excelled, with a pass rate of 97.92%. These outstanding performances reflect the dedication and excellence of NPC’s nursing programs.

The Next Generation NCLEX, introduced in April 2023, represents a significant shift in nursing licensure testing. Designed as a computer-adaptive exam, it evaluates the knowledge, skills and abilities of entry-level nurses more precisely. Both RN and PN exams now align with contemporary nursing practice, emphasizing critical thinking and clinical judgment.

Janice Ivers, Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences acknowledged initial concerns about potential pass rate declines due to the test plan change. However, NPC’s nursing programs surpassed state and national averages.

Ivers explained, “When I meet with students who are interested in nursing, I always tell them to make sure to check out the NCLEX pass rates as they narrow down which program in the state to attend because the NCLEX pass rate for nursing programs is a strong indicator of a robust curriculum and teaching quality.”

“My faculty members work tirelessly to provide teaching methodologies to engage and reach today's learners, to build and promote confidence in clinical skills, and to mentor our future nursing workforce. I take great pride in being the Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences as we carry on the tradition of producing quality, workforce-ready nursing graduates at National Park College,” said Ivers.
