The Lloyd's Second Chance Scholarship is available to students who need a second chance at earning an education thanks to the generosity of Lloyd's Auto Sales and National Park College. The scholarship covers full tuition and fees for two years.

Rowland is a graduate of Lake Hamilton High School and is pursuing a degree in education. “I picked this degree because it allows me to do what I love, which is to care, love and teach children. I also want everybody to feel loved and important,” she explained.

Balancing her academic pursuits with personal interests, Rowland enjoys babysitting and defending the goalpost on the soccer field. She hopes to graduate from NPC in 2026 and continue her education at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

Rowland’s decision to choose NPC was influenced by its proximity to her family and the intimate learning environment it offers. “It is right down the road from my mama,” she remarked, emphasizing the College’s convenient location.

Upon receiving the scholarship, Rowland expressed her gratitude, “I was surprised. There were so many people who wanted and tried to get this. It is really a blessing. Thank you, you have no idea how much this means to me. I appreciate it a lot. I feel very blessed.”

Amy Watson, NPC’s Director of Financial Aid said “Of all the applicants for the Lloyd’s Second Chance Scholarship, Alexis was ranked highest by our scholarship review committee. She attended Lake Hamilton High School where she participated in soccer, Beta Club, worked part-time and graduated with a 3.6 GPA. She is studying education and plans to be a teacher. In her scholarship essay, Alexis wrote, ‘I want to show every kid that they matter, they are special, they are important, they are loved and needed.’ It is clear that Alexis is a caring, hardworking young lady. We are honored to be able to provide this opportunity for Alexis and look forward to seeing her accomplish her goals.”
