National Park College (NPC) Nighthawk sophomore pitcher Eli Hutcherson (Cabot) recently
received an honorable mention to the 2024 All-Arkansas Collegiate Team.
Presented by Natural State Baseball, the All-Arkansas Collegiate Team recognizes the
top collegiate teams, coaches and individual players throughout the year in Arkansas,
regardless of classification. Hutcherson becomes the fourth NPC student-athlete to
be recognized for the team, joining former Nighthawks Cameron Tyson (Cullen, Louisiana),
Tristen Jamison (Nashville) and Demias Jimerson (Malvern) as past honorees.
Hutcherson led the nation in complete games (9) this season, amassing a 9-5 record
with a 2.78 earned run average for the Nighthawks. The All-Region 2 Team honoree earned
multiple National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Pitcher of the Week
honors and recently completed his NPC career as the Nighthawks’ all-time leader in
wins (10) and strikeouts (126), while leading the program to the postseason for the
first time since 2022. Hutcherson will continue his baseball career at Southern Arkansas
University in Magnolia.
“We are extremely proud of Eli and his body of work this year being recognized,” NPC
Head Baseball Coach and Athletic Director Rich Thompson said. “He led our team from
the front and deserves all the accolades he is receiving.”
Former Nighthawk Cade McBride (Nashville) was named to the All-Arkansas Team. The
left fielder, who current plays for Central Baptist College in Conway, batted .438
this season with 15 doubles, 21 stolen bases and 44 runs batted in. Former Nighthawks
Jacori Hicks (Baton Rouge, Louisiana), who also plays for Central Baptist College,
and Will Beckham (Mountain Home), who plays for North Arkansas College, received honorable
mention honors.
“I am extremely happy to see former Nighthawks being recognized on this list,” Thompson
said. “Development is at the heart of our program and to see former Nighthawks contributing
at the next level shows we are doing what we set out to do.”
