The National Park College (NPC) chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Alpha
Beta Psi, made a significant impact at the PTK Catalyst 2024, held in Orlando, Florida
April 3-6. The chapter was recognized Wednesday during the regular monthly Board of
Trustees meeting.
Chapter officers Mei Godfrey, Devan Cox, and Nia Fontes, along with advisors Dr. Rebekah
Robinette and Dr. Alex Barnard, represented the chapter at the conference. Dr. Chuck
Argo, Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs at NPC, was also present to accept
the Distinguished College Administrator Award for his exemplary service.
Alpha Beta Psi’s dedication to excellence was evident as they were internationally
recognized with several awards for their 2023 projects. Notably, the chapter was one
of only three to receive the coveted CCsmart Champion Award. Additionally, they secured
the Distinguished College Project Award, the Distinguished Honors in Action Award,
and the Beta Alpha Continued Excellence Award.
This year’s PTK Catalyst marked the fifth consecutive year that Alpha Beta Psi ranked
in the top 10% of chapters, earning them the Distinguished Chapter recognition. It
was the third consecutive year they were honored with the Beta Alpha Continued Excellence
award, a testament to their sustained commitment to the society’s ideals.
The chapter’s achievements reflect the hard work and innovative projects undertaken
by the 2023-2024 officer team, setting a high standard for future members and chapters
worldwide.
“This group of scholars and advisors represented our campus well at their recent conference.
I am proud of their diligence and commitment to excellence. I look forward to seeing
their growth as they move forward in their academic careers,” said NPC President,
Dr. John Hogan.
