National Park College (NPC) faculty teamed up with volunteers from the Diamond Lakes chapter of the Arkansas Master Naturalists for a cleanup competition organized by Hot Springs National Park in celebration of National Public Lands Day.
Last weekend, the group of nine volunteers collected 586 pounds of litter from Rockefeller Drive, Bull Bayou Road, and their intersection, areas notorious for illegal dumping. The cleanup efforts continued Sunday, September 29, with another group of eight volunteers who gathered 200 or more additional pounds of litter within Hot Springs National Park.
