National Park College (NPC) recently received a $10,000 continuing grant from the Oaklawn Foundation Student Wellness Fund through the United Way of the Ouachitas. Special Events Chair on the United Way of the Ouachitas Executive Board, Jennifer Bailey presented the grant on campus last week.
The grant will help students through wellness initiatives such as housing, clothing assistance, food insecurities, supplies and more.
“It’s amazing to know that all this money is going to such a great cause and will be able to help students fulfill their dreams,” said Bailey.
Executive director of the NPC Foundation, Nicole Herndon said, “We are grateful for the continued support of the United Way and the Oaklawn Foundation. The generous gift allows our students to succeed by removing some of the obstacles and challenges they face. With this investment, we provide an immediate response to food insecurities, utility assistance, and basic wellness needs.”
