National Park College (NPC) Nighthawk sophomore right fielder Jadyn Hart (Magazine)
and sophomore pitcher Makenna Keeton (Morrilton) were named NJCAA Region II Players
of the Week for their outstanding performances on the field this week.
Hart impressed at the plate, batting .769 with three doubles, a triple, a home run,
five runs scored and 10 RBI as the Nighthawks swept South Arkansas College and North
Arkansas College to conclude NJCAA Region II play. The sophomore is batting .404 this
season for the 32-18 Nighthawks and leads the team in RBI (58) and triples (4) with
57 hits and six home runs this season. In the circle, Hart has an 8-6 record with
a 3.65 ERA and 78 strikeouts.
Keeton went 2-0 in the circle this week, allowing one run on 10 hits with 11 strikeouts
over 10 innings of work. The sophomore pitched NPC to victory in a 10-1 win at South
Arkansas College Friday, April 28, while cruising to a 12-1 win Sunday, April 30,
against North Arkansas College. Keeton leads the Nighthawks with an 11-7 record in
the circle and is first on the team with 94 strikeouts and a team-low 3.21 ERA.
“It’s great seeing our sophomores have big weeks, especially to end the regular season,”
NPC head softball coach Autumn Wyatt said. “I think this gives the girls confidence
and the team some great momentum going into the postseason! Jadyn and Makenna have
been impact players for us all year and I’m proud of the way they have performed,
but more importantly the leadership they have provided.”
