The National Park College (NPC) Nighthawk men’s soccer team (11-0-2) defeated North
Arkansas College, 1-0, in NJCAA Region 2 play Wednesday at Hot Springs World Class
High School.
Against the Pioneers, NPC took the lead midway through the first half on a header
by sophomore center back Tobias Minkus (Leipzig, Germany), assisted by sophomore midfielder
Felix Rocca (Leipzig, Germany) on a free kick. That goal proved to be the difference
in the battle, as NPC controlled the tempo down the stretch via time of possession,
preventing the Pioneers from taking shots. Behind its stingy defensive midfield, NPC
outlasted North Arkansas through the remainder of the contest, notching the Nighthawks’
seventh-consecutive victory to remain undefeated this season.
NPC men’s and women’s soccer returns to action Sunday, October 15 at Crowder College
in Neosho, Missouri. Women’s action kicks off at 2 p.m., followed by men’s action
at 4 p.m.
The Nighthawks will celebrate sophomore night on its home finale Sunday, October 22
at Hot Springs World Class High School against University of Arkansas-Cossatot, beginning
with women’s action at 3 p.m. Each Nighthawk team can win its respective NJCAA Region
2 championships with wins or draws in the match. [np.edu/live]The sophomore night
matches will be streamed live on the Nighthawk Network.
