The Lloyd's Second Chance Scholarship is available to students who need a second chance at earning an education thanks to the generosity of Lloyd's Auto Sales and National Park College. The scholarship covers full tuition and fees for two years.

Stroup graduated from Glen Rose High School in 2010, and she is pursuing a degree in nursing. “I want to go this route because I would be able to help and interact with people on the daily and I would have job security,” said Stroup.

Stroup’s goal is to obtain a career as a traveling nurse. She plans to attend the University of Arkansas at Little Rock after she graduates from NPC. When asked why she chose NPC, she said, “The environment and the instructors are wonderful here.”

Associate Degree Nursing Program Director Janet Smith said, “Amber has been eager to learn and is attentive in class.”

Stroup added, “I want everyone to know you can do anything that you put your mind to. No matter where or what you come from, reach for the stars and never give up. I am very appreciative, and I am very grateful. I thank anyone involved that has helped me get this award.”
