National Park College (NPC) Nighthawk sophomore pitcher Jadyn Hart (Magazine) was
named NJCAA Region II Player of the Week for her outstanding performance on the field
this week.
In the NJCAA’s first measurement week of the season, Hart shined, notching a 1-1 record
with 13 strikeouts over eight and two-thirds innings, allowing just two runs on three
hits for the 14-8 Nighthawks.
Hart’s biggest highlight of the week came in throwing NPC’s second no-hitter of the
year in a 14-0 victory over Williams Baptist University’s junior varsity team. Hart
recorded nine strikeouts over five innings to earn her 17th career victory—setting
the all-time mark for pitching wins in NPC history.
“I’m very proud of Jadyn and how hard she works day in and day out,” NPC head softball
coach Autumn Wyatt said. “She continues to rewrite the record books, earn awards and
leave her mark on this program. I am most proud of her growth as a leader and look
forward to being a part of the rest of her journey as a Nighthawk.”
In the circle, Hart holds a 4-3 record for the Nighthawks this season. The sophomore is ranked seventh in the nation in strikeouts, averaging 9.66 per appearance with a team-leading 52 strikeouts and a 2.97 ERA. Earlier this season, Hart broke her own single-game strikeout record, retiring 13 batters in a 3-1 victory over Mississippi Delta Community College. Boasting a .351 average this season, Hart is tied for the team lead in RBI (19) with 20 hits and three home runs.
