Hot Springs, Arkansas – Congressman Bruce Westerman hosted a public town hall meeting Thursday following National Park College’s Adult Education Workforce Alliance for Growth in the Economy (W.A.G.E.™) advisory committee meeting. Business and community leaders met before the town hall to discuss updates about the W.A.G.E.™ program and recognized new W.A.G.E.™ partners, Representative Mickey Gates with The Stonebridge Collection, the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store, and Safe Haven Women’s Shelter. Students from Shalom Women’s Shelter were recognized for earning W.A.G.E.™ certificates, including Audrey Gibson, Angel Race and Charis Smith.
Hot Springs, Arkansas – National Park College’s Adult Education Workforce Alliance for Growth in the Economy (W.A.G.E.™) program has invited Congressman Bruce Westerman to be a special guest speaker at the advisory committee meeting Thursday, July 28 at 12:15 p.m. in the Martin Eisele Auditorium in the Fredrick M. Dierks Center for Nursing and Health Sciences. The event is open to the public. Congressman Westerman plans to discuss policy issues related to poverty, economic growth and opportunity, and health care.
NPU Director, Yolanda Mitchell organized an NPC Discovery Day for National Park Technology Center students and Adult Education students this week. Student Affairs staff and faculty from every division on campus gathered in the Southside Student Center and courtyard to demonstrate what their programs have to offer. More than 400 students attended the event, which included hands-on interactive exhibits from Welding, Marine, Automotive, Radiography, Math and Sciences, Industrial Technology, Hospitality and Tourism, Respiratory Therapy, and Nursing.
