NPC soccer player Amoy Gayle kicking the ball. The National Park College (NPC) Nighthawk women’s soccer team (1-7-1) dropped its match against Dyersburg State Community College at Munro Soccer Complex Saturday, 1-0.

Amid a recent hot streak on the pitch, NPC came out of the gate with strong defense and aggressive offense, attempting multiple shots on goal throughout the first half. The Lady Eagles struck first, however, squeaking in a goal in the top of the net at the 35-minute mark. NPC continued to battle throughout the remainder of the contest, with multiple shots on goal, but could not convert the equalizer in defeat.

Nighthawk soccer plays host to Crowder College Wednesday, October 4 at Hot Springs World Class High School. Women’s action begins at 3 p.m., followed by men’s action at 5 p.m. The matches will be streamed live on the Nighthawk Network.
