Nighthawk Women Fall In Texas

Kaylee Meredith dribbles downcourt.The National Park College (NPC) Nighthawk women’s basketball team (1-6) lost its game at Dallas College-Mountain View Thursday, falling to the Lions, 79-63.

Despite outshooting the opposition from the paint and beyond the arc, the Nighthawks struggled to overcome the turnover bug against the Lions, falling in defeat. After a competitive first quarter, NPC found itself trailing, 15-12 after 10 minutes. Trailing, 37-28, at halftime, the Nighthawks churned out 21 points in the third quarter, but were unable to stop the Lions late.

Freshman guard Hope Thomas (Grady) led the Nighthawks in scoring with 17 points and turned in team highs in rebounding, assists, steals and free throws. Finishing with 15 points, freshman guard Kaylee Meredith (Dover) fired five treys, climbing to seventh place all-time in three-pointers for NPC. Freshman guard Makia Cravey (Rogers) contributed 11 points in the loss.

The Nighthawk women play host to Murray State College Friday, January 5 at 5:30 p.m. The game will be streamed live on the Nighthawk Network.

The Nighthawk men will host the Nighthawk Holiday Classic December 15-16 in Hot Springs. The Nighthawks face Allen County Community College Friday, December 15 at 7 p.m. and play host to Kansas City Kansas Community College Saturday, December 16 at 2 p.m. [np.edu/live]The games will be streamed live on the Nighthawk Network.
