The National Park College (NPC) Hospitality and Tourism Management Program impressed
guests with their culinary skills at the annual Taste of the Holidays fundraiser for
Mid-America Science Museum last week.
The event, attended by nearly 350 guests, featured many of Hot Springs’ best restaurants
and food purveyors. NPC’s Hospitality and Tourism Management instructor, Eve Victory,
and two alumni, Celeste Moore and Austin Hillman, prepared over 1,000 hors d’oeuvres
for guests to enjoy.
Misti Halter, principal accountant at Absolute Accounting, praised the NPC table as
the highlight of the evening.
“So many tables and options to try. I had to bypass a few to make it all the way through,
but the one I didn’t bypass, and even made a second round to was NPC Hospitality.
The presentation was fabulous. The portion was exactly what I preferred. The taste,
well amazing. So amazing that I had to attempt to recreate one of the offerings myself,”
said Halter.
Victory said she was proud of the NPC alumni who were working at various food and
beverage operations and hotels in the city.
“We so appreciated the kudos, but the best part of the event was seeing our Hospitality
Program graduates succeed in a big way as managers and chefs at the city’s top food
and beverage operations and hotels. That’s the purpose of the program, to give them
the confidence and leadership skills to take their careers to the highest heights,”
Victory said.
