In women’s action, NPC (0-5) got off to a strong start, but could not hold on late in defeat. Sophomore Kaylie Goad (Wharton, Texas) put the Nighthawks in front on a corner kick assisted by freshman midfielder Natalie Brice (Benton, Louisiana) two minutes into the first half. Dallas College-Cedar Valley added two additional insurance goals over the final 10 minutes of the match, which proved to be too much for the Nighthawks to overcome.

Hale picked up seven saves for NPC in the loss.

With seven minutes remaining in the contest, sophomore winger Jack Avery (Brighton, England) put the Nighthawks in front, 3-2, but the Suns poked the equalizer through with four minutes remaining, sending the match to a draw.

NPC faces Northwest Mississippi Community College Tuesday, September 12 in Senatobia, Mississippi. The Nighthawk women take on the Rangers at 1 p.m., followed by men’s action at 3 p.m.
