National Park College (NPC) Health Science student Mitzi Reynolds was named student
of the month for March.
Reynolds is in her final semester of the Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program
and is currently enrolled in 15 credit hours. “I chose MLT because, I always loved
my science and laboratory classes and I wanted to get a job in the medical field,”
she said.
Reynolds attended Conroe High School in Conroe, TX. and graduated in 1998. She and
her husband moved to Hot Springs from San Marcos, TX., where they lived for 20 years.
She has a background in police and emergency medical services dispatch, and enjoys
gardening, kayaking and video games in her spare time.
Reynolds shared how the faculty have made her experience a positive one. “My professors,
Mr. Turner and Mr. Collie, are great teachers and love their field,” said Reynolds.
“Mitzi is a very motivated student and seems to excel in all aspects of our program,”
said Britt Turner, MLT Program Director.
Reynolds added, “MLT techs are a vital and understaffed segment of the medical profession,
so I encourage people to look into the program.”
