The seventh-ranked National Park College (NPC) Nighthawk men’s basketball team (11-0)
continued its winning ways in the Kettle Friday, defeating Missouri State University-West
Plains, 95-75.
Red-hot from the opening tipoff, NPC jumped out to a 7-0 run to start the game and
never looked back. Sophomore forward Nakavieon White (Odessa, Texas) and sophomore
guard Ja’Bryant Hill (Dallas, Texas) dazzled in the first half, contributing 16 and
15 points, respectively. Sophomore guard Patrick Punch (Houston, Texas) led NPC from
beyond the arc as the Nighthawks soared to a 56-27 halftime lead.
Boosting its lead to 40 points, 84-44, early in the second half, NPC was in cruise
control throughout the remainder of the contest. Sophomore guard Siddiq Canty (Dallas,
Texas) led the scoring effort over the final 20 minutes, contributing 12 points off
the bench as the Nighthawks defeated the Grizzlies for the second time this season.
White led the Nighthawks in scoring with 21 points. Hill added 19 points, while Punch,
sophomore guard Keryn Collins (Dallas, Texas) and Canty finished with 17, 15 and 12
points, respectively, in the win.
The Nighthawk men will host the Nighthawk Holiday Classic December 15-16 in Hot Springs.
The Nighthawks face Allen County Community College Friday, December 15 at 7 p.m. and
play host to Kansas City Kansas Community College Saturday, December 16 at 2 p.m.
The games will be streamed live on the Nighthawk Network.
The Nighthawk women play host to Murray State College Friday, January 5 at 5:30 p.m.
