Students in Dr. George Maxey’s Geology class attended the unveiling of the Babe Ruth
Statue at Majestic Park this week.
Maxey and his students worked with Majestic Park and the City Cultural Affairs Manager
for Hot Springs to assist with the placement of the statue last semester. They calculated
the sun angles that would fall on the statue throughout the baseball season to help
determine the best location for the statue.
Participating students included Myles C. Anderson, Rose Baghestani, Jeremiah Brown,
Jacob A. Claborn, Silas Cowgill, Jack Hackney, Zachary R. Hardcastle, Ayden T. Heard,
Sophia R. Howell, Braden Knight, Jaden Lewis, Jeff Looper, Skyler Messmann, Kylie
Schroeder, Brant M. Stevens, Brianca Y. Thomas and Jacob Weems.
