Group of people around a forkliftNational Park College (NPC) welcomed employees from TRIUMPH last week as they presented the College with a forklift donation. TRIUMPH donated a Hyster H30XL forklift with an estimated market value of $6,500.

The College plans to house the forklift in the Marine Technology Center, where it will be used to move boat motors and other equipment.

General Manager for TRIUMPH, Katie Wilson explained that growing mechanical aptitude and expanding interest in mechanical fields is an important goal for building a quality workforce. She said, “TRIUMPH is proud to donate this piece of equipment to help the students have a more hands on learning experience. Helping National Park College and this program to be more successful in turn helps our future workforce be more successful.”

Marine instructor, Delmar Hunter said, "The donation of a forklift from TRIUMPH is going to help our students and program in ways that wouldn't normally be visible. It will help us organize the shop area, move boats in and out of the shop, and lift engines into test tanks. We also plan to teach a forklift class and certify students to drive forklifts. This will make them more employable, since most marine shops use forklifts to move boat inventory."
