Headshot of Lance Porter

Lance Porter headshotGovernor Asa Hutchinson recently appointed Dr. Lance Porter of Hot Springs to the National Park College (NPC) Board of Trustees. Dr. Porter will complete the remainder of Gail Ezelle’s term following her retirement from the board.

Dr. Porter received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee-Memphis after completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. A Hot Springs native and graduate of Lakeside High School, Dr. Porter decided to return home after receiving his degrees to provide exceptional dental care and compassion to his community.

In 2008, Dr. Porter joined the NPC Foundation Board and served as chair in 2010. He is a member of numerous local, state, and national professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Arkansas State Dental Association, the Central District and Garland County Dental Society, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and The American Academy of Dental Practice Administration.

Dr. Porter is also heavily involved in community organizations such as the Hot Springs National Park Rotary Club, Hot Springs Fifty for the Future, Hot Springs Future Fund, Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce, Hot Springs Charitable Christian Medical Clinic, First Baptist Church of Hot Springs, City of Hot Springs Public Task Force Committee (2010), Simmons National Bank Board of Directors, Hot Springs Area Community Foundation Board, CHI St. Vincent Hospital Community Board, and the Lakeside ACE (All Created Equal) Board. He was named one of the Arkansas Democrat’s “20 to Watch in 2011,” and was nominated for Hot Springs’ “Man of the Year” in 2010.

When away from the office, Dr. Porter enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, as well as playing tennis, golfing and fishing. He is also actively involved in his church and community, and he routinely volunteers his time with different mission projects.

“I am honored to be appointed to serve on the NPC Board of Trustees. As a long-standing member of the NPC Foundation Board, I understand the important role the College plays in our region. I am excited to continue the work of expanding access to education for our students,” said Dr. Porter.
