National Park College (NPC) hosted the 2022 commencement ceremony Saturday at Bank OZK Arena. The College conferred 788 degrees and certificates to 505 graduates this year. This is the second highest number of degrees and certificates conferred in the past 15 years.

The College conferred six new degrees this year, including an Associate of Applied Science in Law Enforcement Administration, Associate of Science in Liberal Arts & Sciences – Dietetics, Associate of Science in Liberal Arts & Sciences – Philosophy, Associate of Science in Liberal Arts & Sciences – Social Studies – History, Certificate of Proficiency in Computer Science, and a Certificate of Proficiency in Marine Engine Fundamentals.

Each year, the College’s honor society, Phi Theta Kappa, selects a student who exemplifies academic achievement, demonstrates personal advancement, and contributes to the overall spirit of the College to receive the Tom and Rachel Spencer Spirit of NPC Award. Aleeya Gregory was awarded this year’s honor during Saturday’s commencement event.

Gregory completed an Associate of Science in Elementary Education this semester. She is a full-time student, works in the NPC Library, and maintains an impressive GPA. She is committed to her studies, always early to class, prepared and engaged. One of her teachers shared that “Aleeya came into my courses as a nervous freshman, shy, lacking confidence, and not realizing that the work ethic and character she carried would propel her to the top of the class.” She has overcome many adversities and trials yet remains the backbone of her family.”

Gregory is an active member of the Believers United in Christ, a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society, the NPC Honors Program, and is on the President’s List. She plans to complete her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, become a teacher and hopes to eventually become a librarian.
