NPC Celebrates Apprenticeship Week

National Park College (NPC) Corporate Training will host two events to spotlight the NPC apprenticeship programs as part of the eighth annual U.S. Department of Labor’s National Apprenticeship Week (NAW).

An Apprentice Appreciation Dinner will be held Tuesday, November 15 in the Student Commons building from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Speakers will include Cody Waits with the Office of Skills Development, Judge Daryl Mahoney, and State Representative Richard McGrew will give the keynote address.

Wednesday, November 16, NPC will host the Apprenticeship Educators Forum from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Commons building. Topics will include apprenticeship foundations, funding and nontraditional occupations. Mark McManus from the Office of Skills Development will provide the keynote address.

This is the 20 year anniversary for the electrical apprenticeship program at NPC, which began under Quapaw Technical Institute in 2002.

NAW is a nationwide celebration where industry, labor, equity, workforce, education, and government leaders host events to showcase the successes and value of Registered Apprenticeship for rebuilding our economy, advancing racial and gender equity, and supporting underserved communities.
