National Park College (NPC) named lab manager Jeff Looper as the 2022 Outstanding
Staff Member during the annual Employee Recognition Day celebration last week.
Looper graduated from Henderson State University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science
in Engineering (BSE). He worked for 12 years in the Arkansas public school system
before becoming an assistant fisheries biologist with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
Looper’s career at NPC began in September 2001 as a lab assistant and he is now the
lab manager. He orders, tracks and maintains all lab equipment, chemicals and schedules
for all lab science classes. His work also includes helping faculty work through new
procedures and making complex chemical reagents when needed.
Looper’s peers describe him as flexible, proactive, accommodating and organized, routinely
going above and beyond to make sure students and faculty have an exceptional learning
experience in campus laboratories.
“I have been working with the most wonderful and dedicated administrators, instructors
and fellow staff members that I could imagine,” noted Looper. “It makes me very proud
to tell everyone about NPC and all the wonderful, caring people I work with and how
much I enjoy helping our instructors and students have the best experience in our
labs.”
