NPC Celebrates Earth Day

Ten men and women in bright green vest standing on sidewalk in front of grass.The National Park College (NPC) Recycling and Sustainability Committee and Child Care Aware held an Earth Day celebration Friday with activities from community vendors and land management agencies.

Over 100 participants enjoyed visiting vendors, including representatives from the Northwoods Trails, Ozark Monarch Conservation Partnership, US Forest Service, Diamond Lakes Association of Master Naturalists, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Arkansas Recycling Association, Lovit Café, Spa City Cycling, Community Gardening, Lavender Farms, mat-making for the homeless, Local Flora, the Helping Hawks Food Pantry, and Hot Springs Storm Water Division. Vendors handed out informative materials and freebies such as saplings, lavender plants, reusable water bottles, tote bags, flower bombs, aquatic litter bags, t-shirts, and other items.

Later that afternoon, students, faculty and staff members picked up trash on NPC’s adopted stretch of highway on Mountain Pine road.
