NPC HOSTS VIRTUAL NURSING AND HEALTH SCIENCES HONORS DAY

Lorem ipsum

National Park College (NPC) hosted a Nursing and Health Sciences Honors Day Thursday. More than $76,000 in scholarships were awarded to nursing and health sciences students. A total of 97 scholarships and awards were presented to students from community organizations and private donors, many of whom are alumni of NPC programs.

The event included NPC’s nursing and allied health programs including Registered Nursing, Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN), Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Medical Laboratory Technology, Health Information Technology, and Emergency Medical Services (EMT and Paramedic).

Janice Ivers, Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences said, “Not having Honors Day last year due to the pandemic was heartbreaking. This year we hosted our first and hopefully our last virtual honors day. In-spite of the pandemic, we persevered in providing a memorable event to honor our amazing students and acknowledge our awesome donors.”

Each year, many nursing and health sciences graduates choose to give back to their profession in the form of scholarships. Ivers said she hopes that seeing other graduates and donors provide scholarships will inspire our current students to give back once they graduate.

“NPC’s outstanding faculty, administration and clinical partners help support students, but donors play a very important role by not only assisting the student financially but mentally as well. I believe the scholarship award gives students a vote of confidence and the encouragement they need to persevere,” said Ivers.
