Two members of the National Park College (NPC) Nighthawks baseball team were named
to the 2021 NJCAA Division II All-Region II team this week for their outstanding performance
on the field this season.
Nighthawk freshmen Demias Jimerson (Malvern) and Tristen Jamison (Nashville) were
named to the team this season.
Jimerson led the Nighthawks with team highs in batting average (.342), runs scored
(51) and triples (3), while finishing second on the team in home runs (20), RBI (52),
hits (51) and doubles (10). The freshman serves as NPC’s career leader in batting
average (.370), home runs (22), runs scored (70), hits (76), stolen bases (17), doubles
(13) and triples (4).
Jamison batted .333 while leading the Nighthawks in home runs (21), hits (62), doubles
(11), RBI (67) and stolen bases (11) and finishing second on the team in runs scored (47) this season.
The freshman serves as NPC’s career leader in RBI (67) and committed to play baseball
at Arkansas State University in April.
“These are two very talented athletes and leaders for our program,” NPC Head Coach
Rich Thompson said. “They were honored for their exceptional play this season and
are extremely deserving young men.”
“I am proud of these young men for being rewarded for their hard work,”NPC Athletic
Director Jason Hudnell said. “I appreciate how they have represented our program this
year.”
NPC faces Northern Oklahoma College-Enid in the NJCAA Region II Plains District Tournament
in Enid, OK today at 10 a.m. against Carl Albert.
