Leadership Hot Springs is a community program that offers participants a chance to learn about different industries in the region as well as any obstacles that the community faces. The program goal is to foster community leaders by exposing the opportunities and obstacles that confront Hot Springs.

St. Marthe said, “I am extremely honored to be selected for this program. To me, it means that I have the potential and the opportunity to make a difference as a leader, in my career, and in my community.”

As an employee of NPC since 2014, she has served as Chair-Elect and Past-Chair of the Faculty Senate. She has completed the Leadership Academy program, presented at NISOD and ACC conferences, served on hiring committees as well as an academic leadership committee. She believes these experiences, combined with her doctorate, position her to be successful in the Leadership Hot Springs program.

As a participant she looks forward to working with the leaders of Hot Springs, developing her leadership skills, and discovering the opportunities for growth and development in Hot Springs. She hopes to make a solid contribution to her community.

“Being part of the Leadership Hot Springs Class of 2021-2022 will afford me the opportunity to take my leadership skills outside of the college, connect with other like-minded leaders and professionals, and explore the potential of community leadership by learning more about the trends, issues, problems, and opportunities that exist within Hot Springs,” said St. Marthe.

As an educator in public speaking, she is passionate about soft skills, public speaking and leadership development. “I believe that if we equip our best and brightest with knowledge, skills, training, and resources to thrive professionally, they will perform at the highest level within their jobs, which will in turn benefit the Hot Springs community,” said St. Marthe.

At the end of the program, she will have developed additional leadership skills and gained invaluable information about her community. She hopes to present the information she gathers with the NPC campus.

“I plan to continue to seek opportunities to lead on campus, to stand out as a leader, and to set myself apart. I plan to use my enhanced leadership skills in the classroom to continue to inspire my students, and to bring out the best in them by holding them to high standards. My ultimate goal is to continue to help build the wonderful institution of National Park College,” said St. Marthe.

NPC’s Communications and Arts Division Chair Roger Fox said, “Dr. St. Marthe is a highly educated, skilled, and adept professional in her field of study. Her experience and out-going personality will be an asset for this year’s Leadership Hot Springs class. We look forward to not only what she will share with the members but also what she will bring back to her campus, her colleagues, and her students from her participation. She is an excellent choice to be taking part in this community organization.”

According to the Leadership Hot Springs website, emerging and existing leaders are eligible to apply for the Leadership Hot Springs program.
