The National Park College (NPC) 2021 marine technology class earned 341 individual
certificates from three engine manufacturers, 57 from Yamaha, 232 from Suzuki and
52 from Mercury.
The courses not only include standard required courses but also product specific courses
designed to teach technicians detailed aspects of marine engines. There are nine students
participating and each met the requirements to attend at least two of the physical
factory training schools from the manufacturers.
“This is an invaluable step in their education that gets them one step closer to mastering
their craft as marine technicians. It is a valuable certificate for the workplace
and takes away the pressure of employers who are trying to educate and still maintain
a working environment,” stated Delmar Hunter, marine technology program instructor.
