The National Park College (NPC) Health and Safety Office worked with Smith Drug and Compounding to offer a COVID-19 vaccine clinic to the staff and faculty of NPC. Health and safety program manager, Jessie Ellis coordinated the event.

Two human resource employees staning behing a table with snacks. The clinic was held Jan. 27 and provided 157 faculty, staff and a few nursing students with the vaccination. As of Jan. 27, 37.8% of NPC employees have started their vaccine regimen. Ellis is working with Smith Drug and Compounding to schedule the second dose of the vaccine for those that are eligible.

Less than 6% of our employee population has been affected and less than 5% of our student population resulting in 4.6% of our total campus population of almost 3,000 being affected by COVID-19.

“I want to say I am extremely thankful for the support and leadership that encouraged us to host this clinic for our employees. I believe it is extremely important for us to model behavior for our students and staff by getting the vaccine, but also, by providing a safe and comfortable, familiar environment in which to receive it," said Ellis.

The Human Resources department at NPC offered snacks for participants during the vaccination clinic.
