National Park College (NPC) alumnae Candyce Corder joined the marketing team at Cromwell
Architects Engineers in Little Rock as a graphic designer. Her job includes making
social media graphics, websites, proposals for clients, photography, and other creative
activities.
Corder graduated from NPC in May with an associate degree in graphic design.
“I became passionate about graphic design in high school while taking classes with
Glenda Davis and Jennifer Seward who believed in me since the beginning,” said Corder.
When looking for a college to attend, she realized that NPC could offer the classes
needed in the graphic design field. Jennifer Seward, NPC assistant professor of Digital
and Media Arts was also her college instructor.
Corder said Seward was encouraging and motivating for her. “She prepared us well in
not only helping us achieve our strong knowledge and skills in the software, such
as Adobe products, but also in helping us build our portfolio and resumes.”
“Candyce impressed me from the get-go with her ability to quickly grasp the concepts
being taught and interpret them into thoughtful and creative designs. Her work is
contemporary and insightful and most decidedly has a style that is uniquely her own,”
said Seward.
“NPC also gave me experience working with other designers, getting criticism, and
assisting other designers,” said Corder. “National Park was a blessing not many people
can say they got their degree that got them their dream jobs right out of college
at 20 years old. National Park College was just the college for me…a welcoming campus,
great teachers, and access to financial support.”
In a press release, Cromwell President Dan Fowler said, “We’re thrilled to add Candyce
to our marketing team. She’s an incredibly talented young designer and we’ve been
impressed by her ability to embrace our brand and create eye-catching material that
will help us stand out in the industry.”
Marketing Manager of Cromwell Jennifer Southerland said, “We’re excited to see all
that Candyce is capable of. She’s a talented graphic artist and photographer with
a wide range of interests. She’s a great asset to the Cromwell team.”
“Now, every day as I go to work at a job I love, and I thank NPC,” said Corder.
