NPC Foundation Announces Namings

The National Park College (NPC) Foundation announced the naming of two suites on campus. NPC Foundation Executive Director, Nicole Herndon made the announcements during the NPC Board of Trustees regular monthly meeting Wednesday.

The Ray and Pat Smith Conference Room pays tribute to former Arkansas Representative Ray Smith and his wife, Pat Smith. Smith served on the NPC Board of Trustees for more than two decades, serving in several capacities including leading as chair. The NPC Foundation is honoring his commitment and contributions by naming the Ray and Pat Smith Conference Room in the Gerald Fisher Campus Center.

Bob Megahan, a longtime supporter of the College and former Foundation board member, held a special interest in the single parent scholarship fund, health care and served his community faithfully. In honor of his commitment and financial contributions to NPC, the Foundation chose to honor his legacy by naming the Bob Megahan Student Health Services Center in the Student Commons.

“We’re honored that these two families chose to support the College and our mission of student success. We hope by naming these suites, their memories and commitment to the College will continue to be acknowledged,” said Herndon.

"I am grateful to Nicole and the Foundation board and the board also for recognizing what the Megahan and the Smith families have meant to NPC and what they have contributed," said NPC president, Dr. John Hogan. "We think they are very suitable and those individuals would be very pleased."
